My role in this project was to create all marketing artwork for both print and digital. This included full landing page and product details page, where I had the idea to vectorise Tom's drawings in order make the pages look like they had been 'vandalised' by Tom himself. I also created assets for social media, and an out of home marketing campaign at Old Trafford. And finally, I worked closely with both Tom and Set to develop and design a packaging concept for the shirts.
For this project, I was also tasked with designing and creating a packaging concept that the shirts would be contained in. After talking to Tom, the artist, he shared one if his values of 'Art not waste', and we used this as a focal point for ideation. I came up with the concept of a paper lunch bag, something that fans might even carry with them on a match day. This time however, instead of lunch note inside, the note was on the outside of the bag, in the form of a Tom Gittins original, unique to every bag.
The project included influencer and VIP seeding, as well as an out of home advertising campaign at Hotel Football, next to Old Trafford, Manchester United's Stadium. These campaigns peaked on one of the biggest games of the season, Manchester United vs Liverpool, with 75,000 fans exposed to the digital billboards I had designed.
This project was incredible to work on, seeing my own designs on the streets of Manchester and being involved with the entire project from start to finish, was an amazing experience. Being able to work with such talented minds like Ste and Tom, gave me valuable insights for future projects. The limited pieces sold out within hours, and the project was featured on many social channels such as Hypebeast UK.
